Time Management
What is the purpose of education? Many people believe the purpose of education is to give us skills to help us attain sufficient employment in our adult years. While others purport that education's true mission is acquire knowledge and or truth! While some people believe that the purpose of education is to socially develop a conciousness or identity of the country you reside in. Nonetheless, most Canadians will probably agree with the first statement! Now as grade 8's, it is hard to believe that what you complete in Math 8 or Information Technology 8 will help you become more employable, but there is some truth to the first statement. But what is even more important, is that no matter what you want to accomplish in school, or in life, it is pivitol that you create some type of process or route to help you achieve your pursuit! Dreams tend to be unfocused and non-specific. To turn a dream into a goal, clients need to decide on two things - how much, and by when!
Dream vs Goal
- The Dream - to live in a beautiful house in the country with a big garden and a stream.
- The Goal - to own a house with five bedrooms and a garden of at least 1 acre and a stream running through it, looking out over rolling countryside, within 2 hours commute from London, by 5 p.m. on 1st April 2008.
To transform a dream into a reachable goal you must clarify it, provide the details, make it so clear that you can see it, feel it, know what you will feel like when you get there.
